Hello,

I have tried making a few ships and realized after i started building them that I was not happy with them but their is no way to cancel the ship being built. We have to wait for it to get done then recycle it. So I would like to suggest the option to be able to cancel ships being built be added. Since some ships can take from 20 min to 10 hours to build this would be handy. I also do not expect a full refund of the materials used as the ship build was already started. Since the recycling of ships returns 90% of the materials I would like to recommend the following penalty for canceling a ship build.
If you started your ship build then changed yer mind and its been less than a minute, 100% should be returned. if the ship build timer is 50% done then a 5% material loss should be applied. If the ship build timer is almost done and you cancel with less than 1 minute left then a full 10% material loss should be applied. since the ship was almost done being built it would be the same as recycling a completed ship.

My 2nd suggestion,
Conveyors, As we start out and gain tech the first tech we get to research is the small conveyors, which hold only so much. I would like to request to be able to recycle my small conveyors so i can use those materials into making the large conveyors that hold more, Also in the long run i think that if we were able to convert our small conveyors to large ones, it would be less data for the server to keep track of, at least that's my thought i could be wrong though. I am not certain as to how much should be returned for recycling conveyors, I shall leave that up to you all to decide.

I hope you all find my 2 ideas reasonable and usable.

Discuss at will :-)

Being able to begin the building of a ship, and then being able to cancel it would be a far too easy way to rpotect ressources. I can't agree with this idea.

That may be, but since you can simply portal stuff off a planet as well with 0 loss this is not a substantially better way to protect resources. Though there probably should some loss in when canceling regardless of time elapsed.

How about only getting back 90 - 75 % of the resources spent?

you bring up a good point but,
If you spy me and i just happen to be on and read the spy report like Malvin said, we can also just as easily portal the resources around. A certain player has been sending Ipers to my colonies daily. Every time i see even 1 report i hurry and spend all my resources or i give it away to my fellow alliance members. Just so the attacker does not get it.

If its left the way it is, I can just que up ships that cost 100k of ea wait 2 hours for them to be built and just recycle at a 10% resource loss. So we can go ahead and leave it if that is the desire. Id rather take a 10% or even 50% loss on recycling a ship over letting my enemies get the resources :P

heck, make the penalty for canceling a ship build the same as recycling a ship. it dont matter to me.

You can already do this with a variety of different functions already present ingame. Adding one more way to do this would not change anything.

I don't know about cancelling ship building, but I guess recycling small conveyors would be possible ;)

Wish we could recycle prototypes as well. I just upgraded to RC-1 and can't get rid of the prototypes or even give them away.

You can give prototypes away, simply "base ruins spaceships" on another players planet.

You can't base ships or ruins spaceships on another persons planet. The game won't let you.

I've done it FoxFire. It's not possible with regular ships, but it is possible with ruins ships (such as Prototypes). Check with GurneyHalleck next time you're on IRC, he received the prototype.

You just need to have a "total pact" (except with players in your alliance) with the aimed player seeing as this counts as an exchange :)

Guess I was wrong. I can base ruin spaceships, but not regular spaceships.

You cannot base spaceships on another player's planet.

i'm not agree with your first suggestion, it will be a way very too easy to avoid looting. but if it will be possible, it must have big penality (30 % or more ?) when a ship construction is cancel.

But your second suggestion is a great idea, and it will be famous with the same thing for ruinships
