I think that some players would be excited about a possibility to queue building construction(especially new players, when the buildings cost less and are completed much faster). Meaning, you can order what to build after the current construction is finished.

What to do if there aren't enough resources for the construction and how many buildings can a player put on the building queue are things worth thinking about here. I think a list of 3-5 is sufficient, but what to do if there aren't enough resources for the construction affects gameplay.

So this idea is something for the programmer or project lead to think about, or make a poll for players to vote.
Generally the options are these:
1) Waits until there are enough resources(with this advanced players could plan constructions a week or more ahead, i think)
2) Discontinues the queue(would require planning skill and make the gameplay more exciting, but mid-game players might not think this whole idea useful then, since it will not be useful for anyone without income to support continues construction)

I don't know. I think that a building queue would be a fun way to play the game, but the whole point is so that people who are active get more buildings/techs/points, etc. It would sort of defeat the point of rewarding active members :/

Definitely a good point.

Limiting the timeframe of queues might be a good idea then. You don't want to overcompensate active players over those who play the game skilfully. Trying to build a game where you're encouraged to spend as much time as possible logged on and playing is not a good idea.

agreed. limiting the amount of buildings u can queue like 2 or 3

or create a building that you have to build called the queue building.
level 1 = 1 extra build
level 2 = 2 extra build
and so on up to a cap

make it expensive to build - iron and Gold and energy -

if you have a building queue would it require that you have the resources at time of queuing?
also i just want all of you to know that later on this will be completely useless
build times grow exponentially and i personally have average build times on buildings around 12 hours some exceeding 2 days

This is definitely something to consider. I agree that the queue is irrelevant in the late game, but surely a number of players have been repelled out of the gate. Adding a building queue where resources are deducted on the spot doesn't take away from the active members much and will draw more new players to continue playing through the annoying 2 min building times. I know I almost quit because of this and I'm sure it plays a major part in why this game has such a low percentage of players who continue playing after sign up.

I'm for the idea. I think the time balance is fine for now, but can be reviewed at a later time, if new suggestions come up interfering it.

1) The building queue should be limited to 3 constructions at a time.
2) Placing an order for construction should be available only if you have sufficient resources.
3) You may cancel an order at any time (resources are not spent before the construction begins).

That is all for now.

I started playing yesterday thinking this would be fun, but one construction at a time and no queue is just awful. I don't have patience or time to click a button every two minutes. I hoped to find something like "if you upgrade your ... to level ... you get extra building slots", like in Asgard Heroes and I was very disappointed that there is no such thing here. How do you manage to play, the progress must be really slow if a person is not in this game 24/7..

Hello,

Seeing as this seems to be quite a problem, we will see what is possible. Because yes i agree that it can take quite a long time, but in another way it is an easy way to hide resources. Maybe, this sort of thing can be activated during a certain time at the beginning...tell me what you think ;)

Hundreds of different ways to do that.

Here's another idea to add on. If it doesn't have the resources for that building, but one of the other buildings in queue, it will skip to that building, and then do one of your other two options, which would be cancel the building(s) that were skipped, or hold them in queue until enough resources are available.

This thread appears to have been abandoned and a thread created about this that has been very active. I would suggest reposting your thoughts over here: http://board.origins...uilding-queues/
