As you know, Ingame quests are soon going to be integrated ingame.

Origins-Return Staff are intrested in your ideas in order to help us invent some stories or even just give us different themes! (Stargate, Battlestar galactica...)

We will be leaving a topic in the bar, so you can give your ideas there!

Adding a quests ingame only take 2 minutes, so we could possibly add quite alot in only one week!

Quests can even be done in different "episodes", so a whole storyline can be laid out including several missions!

A new and fun feature will be soon added to the game: [u]Quests[/u] !

Quests are short or long term missions that all players will be able to try out and whatever their strenght is, the quest will be doable!

The main goal of these quests is for players to be able to have something extra to do whilst trying to build their empires.

Each quest will consist in exploring uninhabited planets, eliminating small armies, and defeating fleets! New storylines will be added all the time!
For each quest acheived, the players will gain either an artefact, a bonus or a scientist which will enable their empire to grow faster!

We have been working on this project for quite a long time and it shall be integrated ingame hopefully in about 2 weeks!

It seems that there is a little problem on the server that is causing you to be booted out every 15-20 seconds. We don't yet know the cause, but we will try and fix it as soon as possible.

The OR hosting servers are going to be changed. Therefore, the Universes will be closed for a duration of 1H on Monday, August 29th from 07.30pm to 08.30pm GMT.

All tasks that are active on your accounts, such as attacks and constructions will continue during the server change and nothing will freeze. The only thing that you won't be able to do is connect yourselves

A few suggestions have been implemented into the game. Nothing major, but it's always good to keep you informed on what is changing

Here are the following suggestions that have been added in:

NAP Indication: (Link)

Players used to get very bothered about Non-agression pacts being broken not long after they were signed, most of the time of course by accident.

[b][u]Solution: [/u][/b] In the statistics and the interstellar sensors, all players that have a [NAP] tag are those who belong to an alliance that has signed a NAP with yours. This should prevent most accidents.

Iper report format change (Link)

[b][u]Solution: [/u][/b] Alliance tags have been added to IPer, Probe and all battle reports.

Alliances and battles: (Link)

The term "Alliance" needed to become much more important. Players in a alliance need to be informed on how their allies are doing, and what are their threats.

[b][u]Solution: [/u][/b]: All alliance members now have access on their alliance page to a tab named "Combat reports". In this tab players will find all information on enemy attacks via portal, fleet and form magnetic wave thrusters. As all portal and thruster attacks are instantaneous, the attacks are just simply listed. The last 20 battles are listed.

As for Fleet attacks, this will change all stategies: all attacks that you will see in this fleet battles tab, will allow you to see enemy fleet attacks heading towards your allies in real time. You will then be able to know when your enemies are not home

Other Changes:


Building times: All building times have been reduced by 15%
Hyperspace description: The hyperspace technology gives a bonus of 15% instead of the 8% that was shown before.
Filling in galaxies: In order to fill in the empty spaces, all new players will fill in the older galaxies.

While I didn't directly get any questions, several have been brought up and there are some other points that we will go over in this FAQ. If I receive more questions they will also be added in. 

Q:Will I have to send these NPCs large amounts of resources? I don't want to spend millions!!

A: No, the amounts of resources are incredibly small and should be easy to accrue except for brand new players. Any construction site materials needed are also easily attainable from other players. 


Q: What role will the staff play in the quest? Don't they have an unfair advantage?

A: All moderators that elaborated the contest are barred from participating in it. They are also barred from releasing any information in regards to the contest including, but not limited to, answers, hints and other help. If you feel a staff member is abusing their position to unfairly advantage others please report them immediately. Moderators will simply be ensuring that the contest happens properly and smoothly. 

Q: What kind of reward can I expect at the end?

A: At the moment it looks like you will receive resources relative to your score and possibly an artifact which will boost your empire in some way. This is still being figured out. 

Q: Will this quest be in any way part of a larger, but still optional, plotline?

A: This is to be determined based off of player feedback, let us know after if you guys would like more standalone quests or a larger, more involved, plot.

In approximately one week we will begin our first ingame contest! This contest is a semi-interactive quest which is completely optional but stands to give the completer of the quest a great reward. In this announcement I will outline the basics of the contest and explain how it will work.

The idea is simple, you will have to solve a number of puzzles and provide small amounts of resources to reach the next step in the quest. You will answer the riddles by sending messages to the NPCs you will meet along the way. If you are correct in your responses you will be given instructions on how to continue, otherwise you will have to start over! Be careful!

You are entirely free to work with others to solve the puzzles and accumulate the necessary resources, however only one person may lay claim to the final prize. This prize can indirectly help others in, say, an alliance, but the direct benefits will go towards one player.

I will be accepting questions for an FAQ post in my inbox for the next 1-2 days. Specific details (such as the quest!) will be out in about a week. Good luck to all who participate!

After following various discussions about the Strong/Weak limit which seemed to be causing a few problems especially for the weaker players, we've decided to changed the actual limit to X3 only.

This new limit will enable all players to attack others who have 3 times more or less their points maximum and receive attacks by these same opponents.

I hope that this will ease your gameplay and make everbody happy. Please don't hesitate to give us your feedback
